36, 37 - LAUNDROMATS – Best is Wash Club (37) They will dry and fold for you plus pick-up/ deliver if u want.

3 - DELIRIO TROPICAL – Good price – natural food
6 - Caffeine – Coffee bar with good breakfast. Local hangout for tribes who enjoy watching people walk to and from the beach. LOTS of restaurants on this street.  Believe it or not this street is the “Castro” of Rio.
7 - CHAIKA – Cheap and quick food – kinda like a hamburger/soda bar with breakfast and deserts too.
8 - Aipim Aipim – food by the kilo - good price – lunch and dinner
2 - FRONTERA Restaurant – food by the kilo – lunch and dinner (right beside the supermarket) – overpriced.
10 - CARRETAO – Brazilian “Churrasco” – all you can eat for 38 Reais TONS of meat and huge salad/sushi bar - A MUST if you have never been to one.  Better price than the PORCAO but just as good.
11 - NEW NATURAL – Health food restaurant / store open till 12:00pm – food by the kilo.
12 – FELICE – Italian Ice cream and restaurant – before-clubbing gay crowd. Closes at 1:00am
14 & 15 – Good restaurants on these blocks – go explore.
21 – GRINGO CAFÉ – big breakfasts and good food open late.

FUN  - STRAIGHT:
10 - Shennanigans – PUB - straight fun crowd, snooker, lots of ex-patriots
14 - Irish Pub – the name says it – fun crowd
15 - Baronete - straight night club – younger crowd. – lots of pretty models  who got money from Mom & Dad to go out. There is another new straight club on this corner as well. Opens at 12:00am
17 - Emporio - straight bar/club – opens at about 11:30pm
18 - LORD JIM – Great pub with a fun crowd

LAPA –Very active nightlife and a real taste of Brazilian culture. Take a cab to LAPA – Rua dos Arcos - at 11:00pm Friday and Saturday. Tons of bars and people everywhere.
THE WEEK – Big dance club – Fridays at about midnight.  Bi crowd but best club in Rio. Take a cab to RUA SACADURA CABRAL, 154 SAÚDE – CENTRO - (about 20 min drive)

19 - Gay beach - Look for the flag, between Farme de Amoedo and Teixeira de Melo streets. Be careful for over friendly locals looking to rip you off.

20 – TO NEM AI - Gay Street Bar – packed every night .  Actually on the corner of the main street.

3, 8 - GYMS – Ipanema Sports Site is the most practical – overpriced – as are all gyms in Ipanema,  but is open on holidays and has free internet..
